The Purpose

It also had to stand up to city weather and look right against the home and its surroundings. We solved this by getting the proportions right. The structure was sized to the footprint, placed to define a comfortable seating area, and built with durable materials that stay good-looking over time. The result is a pergola that makes the yard feel larger and more complete, instead of crowded.
The Challenge
