The Purpose
A roof deck is a rare gift in the city: open sky, fresh air, and a spot all your own. The homeowners wanted to make the most of theirs, with a place that offers a little shade, a little shelter, and the feeling of a real garden above the street. We built a pergola to be the centerpiece of the deck. It gives the roof structure and style, creates a comfortable place to sit, and, with greenery around it, turns a bare deck into a garden room. It’s a space made for easy mornings, relaxed afternoons, and evenings under the open sky.
The Challenge
Building on a roof is different from building in a yard. Everything has to be carefully planned: how the structure sits on the deck, how much it weighs, and how it handles sun and exposure, all while still looking beautiful and feeling comfortable. We designed the pergola specifically for the rooftop, choosing a sturdy, well-planned structure that suits the space and the way the homeowners use it. Plants and planters were added around it to bring the deck to life without crowding it. The result is a roof deck that feels finished, secure, and inviting.
what we do
To Turn This Roof Deck into a Garden Retreat, We Planned Every Detail with Care:
- A Pergola Planned for the Roof
The structure was designed with the deck in mind, sized and built to suit a rooftop setting and the way it’s used.
- Shade Above the Deck
The overhead frame brings light shade and a feeling of shelter, so the deck is comfortable on sunny days.
- Garden Touches All Around
Planters and greenery around the pergola bring color and softness to the deck and make it feel like a real garden.
- A Deck Made for Gathering
A comfortable seating area under the pergola makes the roof a place to relax with family and friends.
